Absalom was born about 1775.  Absalom's father was Bland Shiflett and his mother is Vina Brock (POSS).  His paternal grandparents are John Shiflett and Susannah Davis (POSS). He has three brothers and a sister, named Bland, John Brock, Overton and Anna.  He is the second oldest of the five children.
