Garrett was born on October 27th, 1671.  Garrett's father is Roeloff Martense Schenck and his mother is Neeltje Covenhoven.  His paternal grandparents are Mårten Van Nydeck Schenck and Maria Mararetha De Brockhurst; his maternal grandfather is Garrett Wolferssen Van Covenhoven and his maternal grandmother was Altje Cool. He had a brother and a sister, named Jan and Jannetje Roelofse. He had four half-sisters named Neeltje, Sarah, Sarah and Margaretta.  He died at the age of 73 on September 5th, 1745.
