John was born about 1656 in Westmoreland Co., Virginia Colony.  John's father was John Quesinberry and his mother was Anne Pope.  His maternal grandparents were Pope and <Unknown>. He had two brothers and a sister, named William Nichols, Humphrey and Elizabeth.  He was the oldest of the four children.
