Tallassee was born about 1796.  Tallassee's father was Talmuches Hatcho Hadjo x Peter M'Queen, chief of the Tallapasses, an old Red Stick. led attack Ft. Mims McQueen (Red Stick Creek) and her mother is Elizabeth Betsy Durante (Creek).  Her paternal grandfather was James Scottish officer who jumped ship in Pensacola in 1716. McQueen and her paternal grandmother is tallassee woman; her maternal grandparents are Benjamin Peter Durante (Huguenot) and Sophie McGillivray (Wind Clan of the Creek Nation). She has a brother and two sisters, named James, Millie and Nancy. She has a half-brother and a half-sister, named Muscogee and Sophia.
