Joseph Marshall was born on October 30th, 1839.  Joseph Marshall's father is Archibald McConnel and his mother is Elizabeth Marshall Houston.  His maternal grandparents are James Houston and Patience Bills. He had seven brothers and a sister, named Willis Harvey, James Carroll, Alfred Marion, Samuel Patton, John Newton, Archibald Simeon, William Jasper and Cynthia Artimissa.  He was the seventh oldest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 54 in November 1893 in Indian Creek, Carroll Co., Arkansas.
