Thomas was born in 1748 in Little Cub Creek, Lunenburg Co. VA.  Thomas' father was John Wilkins Marshall Sr and his mother was Hannah Baldwin.  His paternal grandparents were Joseph Marshall and Elizabeth. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Joseph, William North, John Wilkins, Benjamin Wilkins, Samuel, Hannah, Mary and Nancy.  He was the second oldest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 64 on October 26th, 1812 in Green co., Kentucky.
