Solomon was born about 1728.  Solomon's father was Capt William Marshall and his mother was Elizabeth.  His paternal grandparents were John Marshall and Anabella Scarborough-Toft Jenifer. He had six brothers and three sisters, named John, Daniel, William, Charles, George, Levin, Mary, Elizabeth and Leah.  He was the seventh oldest of the ten children.  He died in 1766 in Accomack Co. VA.
