Samuel was born on April 14th, 1822 in Jefferson Co. OH.  Samuel's father was John Lamborn Marshall and his mother was ELIZABETH (BETSY) Gillingham.  His paternal grandparents were Moses maybe JR Marshall Sr and Lydia Lamborn; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Gillingham and Frances Fannie Milner. He had seven brothers and three sisters, named James, Thomas, Moses, Joseph, Harvey Harve Ohio to Wisconsin, John J, Charles, Lydia, Frances  Fanny and Hannah Mariah.  He was the fifth oldest of the eleven children.  He died at the age of 81 on March 23rd, 1904 in Richland County, Wisconsin.
