Rush was born in 1732 in Hanover Parish, King George Co, VA.  Rush's father was William Marshall (group 39 ) and his mother was Anne Hudson.  His paternal grandparents were William Marshall (DNA group 39) and Sarah or Ann Merriman (POSS); his maternal grandparents were Joshua Hudson and Elizabeth Rush. He had four brothers and a sister, named William, George, Hudson, Merriman and Ann.  He was the third oldest of the six children. He had a half-sister named Francis.  He died before July 18th, 1753 in King George Co. VA.
