Ann was born in 1734 in Hanover Parish, King George Co, VA.  Ann's father was William Marshall (group 39 ) and her mother was Anne Hudson.  Her paternal grandparents were William Marshall (DNA group 39) and Sarah or Ann Merriman (POSS); her maternal grandparents were Joshua Hudson and Elizabeth Rush. She had five brothers named William, George, Rush, Hudson and Merriman.  She is the fourth oldest of the six children. She had a half-sister named Francis.
