Robert was born on November 10th, 1801 in Wellsburg Brooke Co. West Virginia.  Robert's father was Thomas Marshall and his mother was Sarah Stevenson.  His paternal grandparents were Alexander Marshall and <Unknown>; his maternal grandparents were Col Henry Stevenson and Jane. He had seven brothers and four sisters, named Henry, Joshua Stevenson, Thomas, Alexander, George, Aaron????, John????, Jane, Elizabeth, Annie May and/or Alma and Rebecca C.  He died at the age of 58 on July 5th, 1860.
