Mary Jane was born about 1836 in Accomack Co. VA.  Mary Jane's father is Aaron Marshall and her mother is Matilda Fisher.  Her paternal grandparents are James Marshall and Patience. She has six brothers and a sister, named Denard, Elisha A, Thomas E, John, James W, Aaron and Eliza A.  She is the seventh oldest of the eight children.
