John FitzJohn was born about 1185 in Rockley, Marlborough, Wiltshire, England.  John FitzJohn's father was John  Marshall and his mother was Alice de Port.  His paternal grandparents were John FitzGILBERT le MARECHAL; `the Marshall'; (of Rockley) and Sibile Sibyl De Vere  Deever D'evereaux; his maternal grandparents were Adam de Port and Mabel De Aurevalle. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named John, Marshal of Ireland and nephew to William Marshall, Earl of Pembroke, was sheriff of Lincolnshire in 1215 and Sybil.  He died before June 27th, 1235 in Hockering, Mitford, Norfolk, England.
