Nancy Susannah was born on May 16th, 1849 in Breathitt, Kentucky.  Nancy Susannah's father was Reuben Ansen Anson  Ann's Son?? Marshall and her mother was Catherine Holbrook.  Her maternal grandparents were John Henry Holbrook and Susannah Back. She had six brothers and two sisters, named John Henry, Reuben Shadrach, William Asbury, James, George, Jacob, Elizabeth and Lavista.  She was the third oldest of the nine children.
