John Henry was born on December 2nd, 1796 in Roaring River, Wilkes County, North Carolina.  John Henry's father was Randolph Holbrook and his mother was Elizabeth A Adams.  He was an only child.  He died due to a medical problem, fever, at the age of 79 on August 23rd, 1876 in Breathitt, Kentucky.
