Col Peter Fountain

Peter was born about 1720 in Hanover Co, Va.¹ Peter's father was Rev Peter Fountain and his mother was Elizabeth Fourreau. His paternal grandparents were Rev James Jacques Fountain and Anne Elizabeth Boursiquot. He had a sister named Mary Ann. He was the older of the two children. He had four half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Moses, Joseph, Aaron, Abraham, Sarah and Elizabeth. He died in 1772 in Hanover Co, Va.¹

General Notes
- Was a surveyor in Halifax, Virginia. Had three sons, John, William and James. William was a Colonel in the Continental Army; James was a major in the Kentucky volunteers and was killed while endeavoring to make a brave escape after being ambushed by Indians after the Revolutionary war.
