  •  "DIED. A fhort time ago, near Union Town, Pennfylvania, on his return
    from the expedition againft the infurgents, Colonel Daniel Creffap, of
    Allegany county, Maryland. He ferved in the late war which fecured
    liberty and independence to his country, and was ever ready to vindicate
    thofe rights, fo glorioufly obtained, whenever they appeared to be in
    the leaft endangered. To the character of a foldier he united that of a
    patriot. In him were alfo blended, the focial virtues of a loving
    hufband, a tender and indulgent father, and a fincere friend. His death
    is regretted, not only by his relatives, but by an extenfive circle of
    friends and acquaintances."
