Stephen was born in 1166.  Stephen's father was Gilbert Le Blount and his mother was Agnes D'Isles.  His paternal grandfather was William Le Blount and his paternal grandmother is Sarah De Munchesny; his maternal grandparents are King Somerled of the Isles and Ragnhild Olafsdottir. He had a brother named William Le.  He was the younger of the two children.  He died at the age of 69 in 1235.
