    1820), his wife; William Marshall, (1788-1849) and Elizabeth Henry
    Williams, (1789-1827), his first wife, m. 1821.
    Gr.-granddaughter of Samuel Davies and Jane Marshall, (b. 1750),
    his wife; John Marshall and Mary Harrold, his wife; Matthew Williams, (
    b. 1758) and Catherine Fort, (b. 1760), his wife, m. 1787.
    Gr.-gr.-granddaughter of Gilbert Marshall, (b. 1715) and Martha
    Rowan, his wife, m. 1749, (parents of Jane and John) ; Elias Port and
    Sarah Sugg, his wife.
    Samuel Davies removed from Bedford county, Virginia, 1779
    to Lincoln county, Kentucky. In 1782 his home was1 besieged
    by Indians, his wife and seven children captured. They were
    subsequently rescued and he died 1793 from exposure in Indian
    warfare.
    Elias Fort, (1730-1819), served as a private in the North
    Carolina line. He was born in Edgecomb county, N. C.; died
    in Robertson Co., Tenn.

    John Marshall, (1756-1810), commanded a company in Col.
    Samuel Miles's Rifle regiment of Pennsylvania militia. He
    was born in Albemarle county, Virginia; married' in New
    Castle county, Pa.; died in Warren Co., Ky. He and his wife
    are buried on their estate at Fleetwood.
