Lucinda was born about 1727 in Goochland County, Virginia.  Lucinda's father was Robert Adams and her mother was Mourning Lewis.  Her paternal grandparents are William Adams and Penelope Johnson; her maternal grandparents were Col William Lewis and Elizabeth Williams Woodson. She had a brother and four sisters, named Robert Old Robin, Elizabeth, Judith Lewis, Mary and Susannah.  She is the youngest of the six children.
