Col. David Saunders 
David was born in February 1761 in Hanover Co, Va. David's father was Thomas Saunders and his mother was Elizabeth Rice. His paternal grandparents were Benjamin Saunders and Elizabeth Miles; his maternal grandparents were David Rice Sr. and Susannah Searcy. He had three brothers and four sisters, named James R., Thomas M., Julius S., Lucille "Lucy", Susannah, Elizabeth and Frances Miles. He died at the age of 81 on September 29th, 1842 in Bedford Co, Va. He was buried in Bedford Co, Va.General Notes
