Richard was born in 1688 in Gloucester Co, Va.  Richard's father was Capt. John Hampton I and his mother was Mary Mann.  His paternal grandfather was Rev. Thomas Hampton; his maternal grandfather was John Mann. He had three brothers and a sister, named Thomas, John, William and Mary.  He was the youngest of the five children. He had a half-sibling of unknown gender named Cary.  He died at the age of 78 in December 1766 in Prince William Co, Va (now Fauqier Co,Va).  He was buried in Prince William Co, Va (now Fauqier Co,Va).


Richard's first family with Alice"Alce".........

‌Richard and Alice"Alce"......... were married in a religious ceremony about 1730 in Caroline Co, Va.  They had two sons and three daughters, named Richard, William, Sarah, Martha and Elizabeth Nancy.

‌Richard and Martha....... were married in a religious ceremony after 1745 in Prince William Co, Va.
