John was born in 1606 in Okewell,Birstall, Yorkshire, England and his baptism took place on June 24th, 1606 in Newton Tony, Wiltshire, England.  John's father was Rev. Robert Batte and his mother was Mary Elizabeth Parry.  His paternal grandparents were John Batte and Margaret Wood; his maternal grandparents were Rev. Roger Parry and Mary......... He had four brothers and five sisters, named Henry, William, Robert, Thomas, Mary, Elizabeth, Mary, Catherine and Rebecca.  He was the second oldest of the ten children. He had three half-sisters named Margaret, Elizabeth and Martha.  He died at the age of 47 in 1653 in Okewell,Birstall, Yorkshire, England.  He was buried in Okewell,Birstall, Yorkshire, England.

‌John and Martha "Katherine" were married in a religious ceremony in 1628 in Bristol, England.  They had four sons and a daughter, named Henry, William, John, Thomas and Martha.
