Matilda of Swabia (Mathilde of Swabia) 
Matilda was born in 0989 in Nordgau, Schwaben, Bavaria.1 Matilda's father was Duke Hermann of Swabia I and her mother was Gerberga of Burgundy. Her paternal grandparents were Duke Conrad (Konradiner) of Alsace I and Duchess of Swabia Judith von Ohningen; her maternal grandparents were Duke, King of Arles Conrad (The Peaceful) of Burgundy I and Princess Matilda de France. She had a brother and two sisters, named Hermann, Gisela and Beatrix. She was the second youngest of the four children. She died at the age of 42 on July 29th, 1031 in Bar-le-Duc, Meuse, Lorraine, France.1 -
