Ermengarde was born in 1170 in Beaumont-leVicomte, Maine, France.1   Ermengarde's father was Richard de Beaumont I and her mother was Lucie de l'Aigle.  Her paternal grandparents were Viscount Roceline de Beaumont and Constance of England; her maternal grandparents were Richard de l'Aigle II and Beatrix. She had a brother and a sister, named Raoul and Constance.  She was the second oldest of the three children.  She died at the age of 64 on February 12th, 1234 in Fife, Scotland.  She was buried in Balmerino Abbey, Fife, Scotland.2 1
