Count Manfried in the Metzgau

Manfried was born in 0860 in Niederlahngau, Hesse, Thuringen, Saxony.¹ Manfried's father was Count Gebhard in the Nieder-Lahngau I and his mother was Alpais di Friuli. His paternal grandparents were Odo Orleans I and Engeltrude d'Orleans; his maternal grandparents were Conte Unruoch di Fruili II and <Unknown>. He had five brothers named Eudes, Berneger, Waldo, Bertholf and Gebhard. He was the second youngest of the six children. He died at the age of 70 in 0930 in Metz, Moselle, Lorraine, France.¹
