7th Baron Wigmore, 1st Baron Mortimer Edmund de Mortimer 
Edmund was born in 1261 in Wigmore, Herefordshire, England.1 Edmund's father was Baron Wigmore Roger de Mortimer and his mother was Maud de Braose. His paternal grandparents were Earl of Wigmore Ralph de Mortimer and Gwladys (Ddu, The Dark Eyed) verch Llewelyn; his maternal grandparents were Lord Brecknock, Abergavenny William de Braose and Eva Marshall. He had a brother and two sisters, named Roger, Isabella and Margaret. He was the second youngest of the four children. He had a half-sister named Gwendaline. He died at the age of 43 on July 17th, 1304 in Wigmore Castle, Herefordshire, England.2 General Notes
