Thurstan de Montfort 
Thurstan was born in 1119 in Egmanton, Nottinghamshire, England.1 Thurstan's father was Hugh de Montfort IV and his mother was Adeline de Beaumont. His paternal grandparents were Gilbert de Gaunt and Alice de Montfort; his maternal grandparents were 1st Earl of Leicester Robert de Beaumont I and Isabel (Elizabeth) De Crepi. He had two brothers and a sister, named Robert, Peter and Alice. He was the second youngest of the four children.General Notes
THURSTANE DE MONTFORT, who succeeded his brother, Robert and was enreoffed of several lordships by Henry de Newburgh, the first Earl of Warwick. At the chief seat of his family in Warwichshire he erected a castle of great strength, which he call Beldesert. He was succeeded by his eldest son: His two children: Henry De Montfort, eldest son and successor. Thurstand De Charlecto.

Thurstan de Montfort, being enfeoffed of divers fair lordships by Henry de Newburgh, the 1st Earl of Warwick, erected a stony castle, called Beldesert, at the chief seat of his family in Warwickshire, which it continued for several subsequent ages.
