Waleran was born in 1104 in Meulan, France.1  Waleran's father was 1st Earl of Leicester Robert de Beaumont I and his mother was Isabel (Elizabeth) De Crepi.  His paternal grandparents were Earl of Meulan Roger Beaumont and Adeline de Meulan; his maternal grandparents were Count Vermandois Hugh (The Great) Magnus De Crepi and Adelaide De Vermandois. He had two brothers and five sisters, named The Just, Ralph, Bellmont, Eleanor, Adeline, Maud and Mabel. He had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named William, Reginald, Ada and Gundred.  He died at the age of 62 on April 10th, 1166 in Abbey Preaux, Normandy, France.  He was buried in Abbey Preaux, Normandy, France.2 1
