James Arthur Underwood 
James Arthur was born in October 1895. James Arthur's father was Eli "Pap" Underwood and his mother was Elizabeth Sophronia Fenwick. His paternal grandparents were Green Berry Underwood and Mary Rachel "Polly" Sprowls. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Oscar, Gerald Martin, Eli Richard, Edgar, Martha Ann and Maude. He had five half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Barney, Morgan D., Virgil, Everett, Elmer W., Mary Elizabeth, Sarah Ada and Ida.-
