Celia M. was born in 1879. Celia M.'s father was Hiram Underwood and her mother was Emily Jane Hedgespeth. Her paternal grandparents were William C. Underwood and Mariah J. Druin. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Olley Moss, Wilson E., Henry E., Elijah M., Lizzie B. and Sallie M.. She was the second oldest of the seven children. She had three half-brothers and three half-sisters, named William Jackson, General Thomas, John Hamilton, Margaret Jane, Mariah and Nancy Ellen.-
