William Thornton 
William was born on March 31st, 1699.1 William's father was William Thornton Jr. and his mother was Elizabeth FitzHugh. His paternal grandparents were William Thornton Sr. and Elizabeth Rowland; his maternal grandparents were John FitzHugh and <Unknown>. He had three brothers and twelve sisters, named Francis, Seth, John, Elizabeth, Margaret, Mary, Esther, Sarah, Jane, Judith, Anna, Susan, Prudence, Alice and Johanna. He was the fourth youngest of the sixteen children.-
