Francis Thornton 
Francis was born on June 7th, 1692 in Gloucester County, Virginia.1 Francis' father was William Thornton Jr. and his mother was Elizabeth FitzHugh. His paternal grandparents were William Thornton Sr. and Elizabeth Rowland; his maternal grandparents were John FitzHugh and <Unknown>. He had three brothers and twelve sisters, named Seth, William, John, Elizabeth, Margaret, Mary, Esther, Sarah, Jane, Judith, Anna, Susan, Prudence, Alice and Johanna. He was the seventh youngest of the sixteen children.-
