Jeremiah Skaggs 
Jeremiah was born on October 17th, 1813. Jeremiah's father was William (Squire) Skaggs and his mother was Mary (Polly) Pierce. His paternal grandparents were James Skaggs and Mary. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Bustle, Fielding, Stephen, Henry, Rachel, Libby, Louisa and Eliza. He was the fifth oldest of the nine children. He had three half-sisters named Elizabeth, Polly and Nancy.-
