Nancy Elmyra was born on April 8th, 1872 in , , Tennessee, USA.1 Nancy Elmyra's father was William Nathan Shipley and her mother was Elmira Gothard. Her paternal grandparents were Nathan Shipley and Charlotte Campbell. She had five brothers and a sister, named James Nathan, William Fayette, George Campbell, Sherd, John and Susan Charlotte. Nancy Elmyra Shipley was born the 8th of April, 1872 in Tennessee. She married James Dolphis Smith. He was born the 19th of July, 1869 to Elbert Sevier Smith and Martha Ann Tindell. They moved to Fireco, West Virginia to work in the coal mines. She would visit her sister, Lottie Coleman, when Jim drank too much. Kathleen Coleman said Nancy and her daughter or daughter-in-law road the train home carrying a dead baby to bury in Hamilton County. Nancy died the 4th of February, 1930 in West Virginia. James died the 4th of July, 1948 in West Virginia. They are both buried in Ware Cemetery, Bakewell, Hamilton County, Tennessee, USA. They had nine children.
