William Roberts 
William was born in 1829 in Orange Co, NC.1 William's father was John B. Roberts and his mother was Winnifred Umsted. His paternal grandparents were John Roberts and Elizabeth Jones. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Richard, John Wesley, Lorenzo, Jesse, Willie, Winnifred and Martha. He was the fourth youngest of the eight children.1 General Notes
