Sylvester 'Vesta' Mae was born on October 6th, 1859 in Granville Co, NC and her baptism took place in Census 1920.1 Sylvester 'Vesta' Mae's father was McKinsey Patterson Roberts and her mother was Rebecca Jones. Her paternal grandparents were George Roberts and Nancy Mize. She had nine brothers named George, James Dean, Duane M., Elijah Adolphus, Francis, William Therophilis, Eaton L., Thomas H. and McKinsey Patterson. She was the second youngest of the ten children. She died at the age of 82 on April 18th, 1942 in Oxford, Granville Co, NC. She was buried on April 19th, 1942 in McMannen United Methodist Church Cemetery, Durham, Durham Co, NC.1 General Notes
