James Roberts 
James was born in 1824 in Caswell Co, NC and his baptism took place in Census 1850.1 James' father was Zephaniah Roberts and his mother was Elizabeth 'Betsy' Smith. His paternal grandparents were Vincent Roberts and Elizabeth Reed. He had three brothers and five sisters, named William R., David, Franklin, Mary, Sallie, Martha, Elizabeth and Frances. He was the oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 26 in 1850.1 General Notes
