Ella was born in 1848 in Person Co, NC.1 Ella's father was George W. Roberts and her mother was Arrenia M. Allen. Her paternal grandparents were George W. Roberts and Elizabeth Warren. She had two brothers and three sisters, named William H., Drury, Anna, Margaret and Catherine. She was the youngest of the six children.1 General Notes
