Geoffrey was born in 1279 in Cletheram, Yorkshire, England.1   Geoffrey's father was Randolph Pigot and his mother was Emma de Coltheram.  His paternal grandparents were Randolph Pigot and <Unknown>. He had three sisters named Emma, Margaret and Alice.  He was the youngest of the four children.
