Emma was born in 1273 in Cletheram, Yorkshire, England.1   Emma's father was Randolph Pigot and her mother was Emma de Coltheram.  Her paternal grandparents were Randolph Pigot and <Unknown>. She had a brother and two sisters, named Geoffrey, Margaret and Alice.  She was the oldest of the four children.
