Joseph E. Pepper 
Joseph E. was born on January 9th, 1826 in Montgomery County, Virginia. Joseph E.'s father was John Pepper and his mother was Mary "Polly" Robertson. His maternal grandparents were James Robertson and Margaret Poage. He was an only child.General Notes
