Moses Payne 
Moses was born on June 15th, 1787 in Franklin Co., Virginia.1 Moses' father was John Payne Sr. and his mother was Sarah Ellis. His maternal grandparents were Austin C. Ellis and Elizabeth (Betsy). Thomas Payne was his grandfather through his father's adoption. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Billy, John, Ellis, Hannah, Elizabeth and Nancy. He was the third youngest of the seven children. He died at the age of 70 on July 7th, 1857 in Breckenridge Co., Kentucky.1 -
