James PIERPONT 
James was born on May 21st, 1699 in New Haven, Connecticut.1 James' father was James PIERPONT and his mother was Mary HOOKER. His maternal grandparents were Samuel HOOKER and Mary WILLET. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Samuel, Joseph, Benjamin, Benjamin, Hezekiah, Sarah and Mary. He died at the age of 77 on June 18th, 1776 in New Haven, Connecticut.1 General Notes
BIOGRAPHY: Graduated from Yale in 1718 (which was then called Saybrook College) and tutored there 1722-24. Settled in Boston after marriage but soon returned to New Haven where he was instrumental in forming White Haven Church in 1742. He also contributed largely to "Blue Meeting House" located on southeast corner of Elm and Church Streets.
