Mary Jane Fletcher was born on June 22nd, 1839 in Caswell Co., N. C.. Mary Jane Fletcher's father was Wesley NORMAN and her mother was Elizabeth Ann ARNETT. Her paternal grandparents were Benjamin NORMAN Sr. and Judy (Mrs. Benjamin) NORMAN. She had three brothers and six sisters, named Joseph C., George T., Cornelius Asberry, Eliza H., Agnes Arnett, Nancy H., Betsy Ann T., Wesley Garrison and Martha Rives. She was the second youngest of the ten children.-
