Gabriel Yancey was born in 1787 in Culpeper Co., VA.. Gabriel Yancey's father was Thomas NORMAN Esq. and his mother was Milly (Milly). His paternal grandparents were Joseph T. Norman and Sarah EVERETT. He had seven sisters named Mildred Tutt, Lucy Latham, Kesiah, Frances T., Ann (Nancy), Elizabeth and Mary Layton. He was the oldest of the eight children. He had three half-brothers and five half-sisters, named Jefferson, John Stewart, Joseph Thomas, Myra H. C., Georgianna, Sarah Martha Wallace, Jane Catherine and Lavinia Lewis. He died about November 1850 in Mississippi ?.General Notes
Per Thomas Norman's will dated 1838: I give to my son Gabriel T. Norman negro man John which he has had, also negro Washington Jack son of Amy.
