Sir William Molyneux 
William was born in 1310 in Sefton, Lancashire, England.1 William's father was Richard Molyneux and his mother was Agatha Kyerton. His paternal grandparents were Sir William Molyneux and Isabella Scarebrick; his maternal grandparents were Sir Roger Kyerton and Alice de Thwenge. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Roger, Richard, John, Robert, Peter, Margaret, Agatha and Ellen. He was the third oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 62 in 1372 in Caterbury, Kent, England.1 General Notes
Sir William succeeded his father in 1363. He distinguished himself at the battle of Navaret, in Spain, under Edward, the Black Prince, where he was made banneret in 1367, and continued to serve under that general in all his Spanish and French wars. On his return, he died at Canterbury, where he was entombed, on which is the inscription:
"Miles honorificus Molyneux subject intus;
Tertius Edwardus dilexit hunc ut amicus.
Fortia qui gessit, Gallos, Navarrosq, repressit,
Hinc cum recissit, morte ferente decessit,
Anno milleno trecento septugeno,
Atque bus junge duo, sic perit omnis homo."
