Nancy was born about September 1821 in , , Kentucky, USA.1 Nancy's father was Hezekiah Hughes and her mother was Elizabeth Click. Her paternal grandparents were John Hughes and Jane Skyles. She had three brothers and four sisters, named John McKinney, Frank H., William, Mary Ann, Eliza Jane, Rachel and Rebecca. She was the second oldest of the eight children. She died on September 2nd, 1859 in , Hamilton County, Tennessee, USA. She was buried in Hughes Cemetery, Bakewell, Hamilton County, Tennessee, USA.2 3 General Notes

Hughes Cemetery No. 1 The Hughes Cemetery is located twenty five miles north of Chattanooga. Follow highway # 27 to Bakewell which is twenty five miles. The cemetery is across from the post office to the left. Seven members of the Hughes family are buried here in rock vaults with no markers.
