Nannie R. was born about 1871 in North Carolina.1 Nannie R.'s father was William Williamson P. Foster and her mother was Sarah Harrelson Montgomery. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Foster and Mary "Polley" Harrelson. She had five brothers and five sisters, named William, Felix Allen, James W., William H., Henry Thomas, Martha A., Mazuria A, Sallie Ella, Parthena Harrelson and Carrie Lee. She was the youngest of the eleven children.-
