Ellen Sarah was born on October 14th, 1843 in Spotsylvania, Virginia, USA. Ellen Sarah's father was Robert Dudley Foster and her mother was Elizabeth Mitchell. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Foster and Susanna Foster. She had six brothers and five sisters, named William Edmund, Warrinton Dudley, John Allen, Robert Maxwell, James Alexander, Rev Thomas Andrew, Julia Ann, Amanda, Sophia, Mary Ann and Cordelia Elizabeth. She was the second youngest of the twelve children. She died at the age of 77 on May 8th, 1921.-
